Summer has arrived and fans are being used as a means of cooling down. To avoid getting hurt or causing a fire, please remember a few tips. “Before plugging a fan in, we should check for the following:
- Check the general condition of the fan
- Any damage to the fan guard
- Any missing bolts to the fan guard
- Any damage to the blades
- Any missing/damaged parts to the fan motor
- Check the power cord
- Check for damage to the cord
- Check for any bare wires
- Check the plug for any damage or missing ground prongs
- Extension cords should not be used on a permanent basis to power the fan”
