Summer has arrived and fans are being used as a means of cooling down. “Before plugging a fan in, we should check for the following:

  1. Check the general condition of the fan
  2. Any damage to the fan guard
  3. Any missing bolts to the fan guard
  4. Any damage to the blades
  5. Any missing/damaged parts to the fan motor
  6. Check the power cord
  7. Check for damage to the cord
  8. Check for any bare wires
  9. Check the plug for any damage or missing ground prongs
  10. Extension cords should not be used on a permanent basis to power the fan”
