“City Council President Martin Horwitz said that there is "strong support" among council for a program that would help seniors put their trash containers curbside on collection day, but said that some details need to first be worked out before such a program could be implemented.
Council's Committee-of-the Whole met to discuss the subject June 5 and members had several questions about how the program might work. Those questions included who would be eligible for the service, how much additional manpower would the service department need to carry out the job, and how much would it cost.
The estimated cost of the program discussed at the meeting was $200,000.”
