Upcoming Hazardous Waste Disposal

As we have talked about in our blogs there are certain household items that really should not be discarded in the normal garbage. They pose dangers when put into landfills just as they pose dangers laying around inside your home or garage. Items such as:

"oil or solvent-based paints, sealers, primers, varnishes, polyurethanes, shellacs, spray paints, automotive fluids, kerosene, gasoline, lighter fluid, pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, paint thinners, mineral spirits, turpentine, caustic household cleaners, adhesives, roof tar, driveway sealer, and mercury."

This includes CFL bulbs as we discussed in a recent post! The city of Shaker Heights is accepting these items in a local round up and will safely discard them for you. Bring your items to 15600 Chagrin Blvd on: Sept 16,17,23, or 24 from 8:00am-4:00pm
