The Dos and Don’ts of Flood Damage in Richmond Heights
5/15/2021 (Permalink)
DO remove excess water from your Valley View home. This can be done by mopping, blotting, or wet/dry vacuum.
DO remove and dry any wet cushions, fabrics, and wood furniture.
DO collect all loose items off the floor and dry them away from the flooded areas.
DO turn air conditioning on in the summer to increase drying potential.
DO put aluminum foil between furniture legs and any wet carpeting or rugs.
DO remove rugs, if possible, and hang or lay them to dry away from flooded areas in your Cuyahoga Heights home.
DON’T leave wet fabrics in place. This is how mold grows.
DON’T remain using rooms with sagging and damaged ceilings.
DON’T use ceiling fixtures if the ceiling is wet.
DON’T utilize electronic household appliances. Electrocution can occur.
DON’T use your South Euclid household vacuum to remove water. (If you are going to use a vacuum, be sure it is one that is made to clean up water, like a wet/dry vacuum mentioned above.)
